Do you desire to go backpacking but don't have anyone with experience to accompany you? Are you a woman who doesn't want to backpack alone for safety reasons? Perhaps you seek comroderie of other like-minded individuals. You can rest assured that you will be safe on our backpacking expeditions, as Jody Rice is a Wilderness First Responder and was on the Georgia DNR Search and Rescue Team for 11 years. Naomi loves empowering women to experience backpacking without any fears or worries and has been leading female expeditions for over ten years.
One of our passions is backpacking. It provides the best adventure exploring a rugged wilderness, bringing everything you need on your back. Our expeditions are typically two or three day trips, but as people demand, we will also expand to week long backpacking treks.
While we recommend taking the Backpacking 101 course before signing up for an expedition, it is not required. We do ask that participants be in good physical condition and prepared for the terrain of the upcoming expedition. The Appalachian Mountains are generally low altitude, not peaking high er than 6,000 feet above sea level, but temperature and weather can change drastically, and proper preparation is essential.
